Asset Management and Digital Inventory

This system allows  easy management of road facility data with all related information/processes. It is independent on current region layout and features open customizable configuration to meet emerging needs and requirements of the users. The software provides unified procedure for facility/inventory data collection and certified data registration. Supports optimal re-distribution of available funds and pavement related facility management. IS MaP utilizes the JSDI (Uniform Traffic Information System) infrastructure with high accessibility and low client system requirements.

IS MaP Features

IS MaP is a web-based application accessible instantly at: www.vars.cz/jsu . It provides uniform registry and location of data related to passport/processes. Current version contains three modules:

Digital Inventory

Provides tools for uniform registration and evaluation of facility status regardless of road class. Definitions od data structures and forms can be completed by system customization (no programmer required). This way, both physical elements (e. g. pavement layers, crash barriers, traffic signs etc.) and variable parameters (e. g.  IRI, beaten tracks, pavement defects) can be registered. The module supports batch import of primary data and interactive edit functions with change management (proposal, evaluation, approval) and change history logging.

Planning and Registration of Actions

Provides action planning/registration tools in connection with the Passport module. Each activity has a defined relationship to a specific road range and selected passport elements. This way, each element is directly assigned a specific action, allowing the administrator to see current status of the facility on selected sector/region.

Financial Module

Provides tools for generation of financial reports related both to completed and scheduled actions. Information managed by this module may be analyzed with respect to specific budget and/or time period.

The system features a client/server architecture and supports web browser-based communication. User can log into the system on the Internet from any computer. No additional software installation is required. All necessary data is managed on the server. Robust architecture of IS MaP system is capable of handling extensive data volumes as well as high numbers of connected users.

Technical Specifications

Modern architecture based on ArcGIS Server and .NET framework (combines properties of table passports and specialized technical maps).

Reference Installations

Since 2006, the IS MaP system has been deployed in the Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic and populated with data from existing registers as well as new collections. It represents major component of the facility module within the Central Road Registry.
Primarily, the system manages data of motorways and class 1 roads. It is ready to cover lower class roads including street network and large scale technical maps. IS MaP may be used by any public service authority.
