ArcSDE

A gate interface used by ArcGIS for relational database access. User can manage spatial data in chosen relational database system and provide data for all ArcGIS applications. Supported database systems include Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, and Informix. This interface supports advanced a powerful management of GIS data.

ArcIMS

Makes maps, data, and metadata on the central web-based portal accessible to multiple users via both Intranet and Internet. Brings specialized application to wide user audience and provides publishing tools for GIS professionals. In web-based GIS publication, ArcIMS offers tools for:

• Map slide creation - from current display of interactive map
• Cector data acquisition - integration with other elements/local data, element annotations, floating labels
• Data queries - new or predefined queries are available
• Data extraction - compressed data archive can be delivered upon client's request
• Geo-coding - client sends address data and receives address location from the server
• Metadata catalogue services - catalogue creation, web-base search/access to GIS data
