VARS Brno Became a Member of the ITS &S Czech Republic

As leading provider of advanced traffic information systems, VARS BRNO has become a member of the ITS &S Czech Republic. VARS is going to help ITS &S Czech Republic in promoting effective state transportation policy and investment strategies. Also, transparent rules for private investors entering state traffic infrastructure should be delivered.

Traffic telematics (inteligent traffic systems and services) integrates infomation and telecommunication technologies with traffic engineering. Its purpose is to provide users of current traffic infrastructure new, modern systems

of traffic/transit processes. This includes improvement of transit performance, traffic effectiveness, transposrt safety, and traffic comfort. By connecting of individual traffic telematics subsystems, it has become possible to apply the same controlling tools as in production enterprises: cargo control, individual cargo centers etc.

In 2007, ITS &S Czech Republic is going to propagate traffic telematics and educate traffic experts. Moreover, it should become discussion forum of national legislation, active partner of public service, and professional authority of the branch. Examples of the ITS &S Czech Republic activities include HEMS workgroups (evaluation of toll collection system effectivness). The HEMS presented several useful comments on electronic toll collection system in the Czech Republic.
